Seaward Group, specialists in electrical safety testing and precision measurement instrumentation, will be a first-time exhibitor at this year’s Farnborough International Airshow.

On stand H1 in Hall D11, the company will be demonstrating its comprehensive range of electrical test and measurement instrumentation for the aerospace and aviation sector including portable microhmmeters, cable testers, hipot testers and high voltage detectors.

Included will be the Cropico DO4000 portable digital microhmmeter recently used by the Royal Netherlands Air Force to measure the ground points on its fighter jets and Apache and Chinook helicopters which are required to create a safe electrical network inside the aircraft.

Other testers from Seaward developed for engineering, design and manufacturing applications in the aerospace sector include the Cropico DO7010 portable digital microhmmeter. The highly accurate low resistance measurements provided by the DO7010 are particularly appropriate for measuring the bonding resistance of vehicle frames during aerospace manufacture as well as carrying out calibration measurements and resistance measurements of electronic components and switches.

For more general airfield electrical safety applications Seaward has also developed a new voltage indicator to ensure safe working on airfield ground lighting systems.

The new AGL-5 two pole voltage detector enables service engineers, maintenance personnel and airport technical staff to verify that runway and airfield lighting circuits have been isolated from the power supply before maintenance or inspection work commences.

The two pole voltage detection system has been designed specifically for ground lighting systems and can be used to detect the presence of voltages from 50V up to 5KV. Designed and manufactured in compliance with international safety standards, the unit is totally encapsulated in a shock resistant high impact rugged enclosure and is IP64 rated.

The DO4000, DO7010 and AGL-5 are part of a comprehensive range of precision measurement and electrical safety testing instrumentation available from the Seaward Group.
