It is recommended that you back up your database on a regular basis. This can be done either to another directory or onto a CD. A good reason to do this is so that your test data is not lost if anything happens to your PC.
To back up your database you need to copy and paste your database from its current location to a different directory or burn it to a CD. The following steps guide you through backing up your database:
1. In the left hand panel navigate to your local hard drive - normally called 'Local Disk (C:)'
2. Select the '+' icon to the left of Local Disk to change it to a '-' sign (it may already be a '-' sign)
3. Select the '+' icon to the left of Program Files to change it to a '-' sign
4. Select the '+' icon to the left of Seaward to change it to a '-' sign
5. Select the '+' icon to the left of your PATGuard Program to change it to a '-' sign (e.g. PATGuard Elite)
6. Your database will be listed among the files in the right hand panel with the name you gave it.
Your database(s) should be backed up on a regular basis - a weekly routine procedure is normally best.
