Knowledge Base Question

Q. Can I create Test Sequences and load them into the tester ?

A.

Yes, you can create your own Test Sequences in PATGuard and Upload them into certain PAT testers that allow Test Sequence Upload. PATGuard Plus and PATGuard Elite allow you to create as many Test Sequences as you like and then Upload a maximum of 20 into the Supernova Plus or Europa Plus range of testers.

Test Sequences are located at a Client level in the program. If you select a Client, then right mouse click to display the context memu; select Add a Test Sequence. You need to give the Test Sequence a name, then select the tests and parameters you want in the sequence.

It is also possible to have Test Sequences contained in Asset Records added to the Client level as individual Test Sequences. To do this simply select a Site, Location or Asset(s) right mouse click and select Create Test Sequences. It will only create Test Sequences which are unique.

T o Upload Test Sequences, select the Client where the sequences are stored, right mouse click and select Upload Test Sequences. Select the appropriate tester. Ensure the tester is in Remote mode, then Ok to carry out the Upload.

The Test Sequences selected will overwrite the (from the top) the Test Sequences in the tester. Remember, the tester has a limit of 20. Of course you can load up the Test Sequences required for different test situations and use the Client as a 'library' of test routines. In fact you could create a Client especially for this called say 'Test Library' with no Sites attached to it.
