PATGuard software

Postby edutech » Tue Nov 15, 2011 6:04 pm

A question for technical support maybe.

Is it possible to upload from multiple testing machines to a single PATGuard database?

If so, would each test machine need to use exactly the same description for locations within the site and would the information be synchronised within the database?

For example, 3 testers working on a large open plan office.

It is possible that Test IDs may be duplicated across these machines.

Thanks in anticipation.

Yes it is possible to download data from many testers into your patguard software. Every asset would have to have a unique asset ID to stop the issue of duplicates within that site or location,
To keep things “straight” in the data base it would be better of all the sites and locations names are kept the same within the testers.

We do exactly that using 12 Primetest 300/350s across the college all feeding a single database. All location names are standardised and each test unit is given a unique AssetID number range to use. So all ID numbers are unique across the whole college.
