Testing built in RCDs

Postby Ford Prefect » Thu Jan 28, 2016 11:06 am

I've come across a large piece of equipment with a built in RCD, not on the lead as I normally see but attached to the panelling on the side of the equipment.
Am I right in thinking the best way (with an Apollo 600) to test the RCD would be to do a Touch current test, as this wouldn't give me a trip time but would trip the RCD and give me reading and make sure it was working?
