supernova plus internal battery

Postby welshy » Tue Nov 18, 2014 3:52 pm

I have a supernova plus, when I set the date and time it only retains it while the tester is plugged in. When it is switched off for more than 10-15 mins it loses the date and time. I believe there is an internal battery that powers this, if so can this be replaced easily??

That would involve opening the machine up. That invalidates the CAL on the machine.

How long is it until CAL is due?? If it is close, I would live with it or send it in early. Mention when you take it in and it will be fixed under CAL - normally free.

Hi welshy

It might be worth you giving our Service department a call on 0191 5878739 to discuss having this repaired.
Thanks and kind regards

Its not long since it was calibrated, but this fault wasn't picked up, its just a pain having to input the date and time every time. Does anyone know what kind of battery it takes??

Not sure about the supernova but I looked at doing this on my europa+

I got in far enough to see the battery but could not see how to get the lower board out to unsolder it :(

I keep meaning to send my tester off to get calibrated but I haven't done any testing in the last couple of years.
