Skytec smoke machine

Postby Matt Macdermott » Fri Dec 13, 2013 11:55 am

I am having problems with a smoke machine I'm testing; it is failing on the insulation test-readings are 0.3- 0.7 M ohms. I have had similar problems with some ovens which can be overcome by testing the ovens after they have been on for a while- the problem being due to moisture within the oven. I was wondering if anyone who has tested these machines has any tips for me or is the thing actually dangerous:) TY

Is it from the USA? If so you might need to perform the insulation test at 250V, a lot of stuff we get that originates from the states fails the 500V test even though it's CE marked..
