The PT350 is supplied with a USB download lead which is actually in two parts.
1. a 3.5mm jack to 9 pin D typpe serial lead
2. 9 pin D to USB adaptor
My PT350 came to me second-hand without a serial cable or adaptor. In true Jedi / A-Team style I have constructed my own from a stereo 3.5mm jack, DB9 serial socket (female) and casing, and a length of CAT5 cable (only three wires used - Rx, Tx, GND. Colour was irrelevant so long as they met up at the other end correctly); I tested it with an RS232 - USB dongle (FT232R USB UART), it all works fine with the Data Transfer Utility. Wiring diagrams were found on the internet for 3.5mm to DB9 serial.
Here is some of the test data it captured to a text file, does this look correct? I'm not sure what the S means - Skipped?
