Postby billy » Wed May 09, 2012 1:56 pm

hi, is it possible for the primetest 300 software to work on windows 7. I am currently using pat guard pro for my supernova elite and want to add my PT300.

Hi Billy

Do you mean you want to run PATGuard Pro on Windows 7? What version of PATGuard Pro do you have?

Hi, I'm resurrecting this thread due to a similar problem here.
Our PCs were recently upgraded to Win7 Enterprise [its a university].
I have spent the 2 weeks since then unsuccessfully trying to get Patguard Plus working on Win7.
[oz] Seaward rep, Emona Instruments in Sydney - 'just upgrade to PP 5.2', supplied download link. Tried, it hung at the end of install and then not only didn't run but refused to uninstall when asked.
Seaward rep - 'if you will just let me remote in to your PC then i'll have it fixed in a jiffy.'
As a university our network and PCs aren't set up to allow outsiders to remote in... The network security dept. frowns on such things.
I now have my shiny new win7 box replaced by my old xp box, but at least Patguard works.

Ideas?

Hi

PATGuard 2 is the only product we have tested and support to run under Windows 7. We haven't tested any legacy versions under Windows 7 so I can't comment on whether older version can or cannot be made to run on Windows 7. I'm not an IT guru so I don't know the reasons behind compatibility issues otherwise I'd have a stab at offering some advise. Perhaps some of the forum users are more IT savy and can offer some constructive advice.

Thanks, Jim.
Funny how our local monopoly importer and distributor didn't think to mention this to me in a dozen emails and an hour or so of phonecalls about the problem. I'll have to see about upgrading out 7 year old software...

I tried to d/l a free trial of Patguard 2 to check that it would actually install/run on w7. It sent me to the checkout with an empty cart.

Hi Verstapp,

After you've logged in close the cart and click the link again and it will download, thanks for reporting this issue, we are currently reviewing the download system.
