Bar code scanner problems

Postby electronicsparks » Fri Mar 11, 2011 10:50 am

Hi,
Just started to use my scanner for annual re-test and had just tested a 4way ext. lead, before scanning the PC next to it. I scanned the bar code and tester went to default sequence on the screen. Just about to press test, and looking at the test it was going to do and saw 25Amp current times 4 highlighted from the previous test.
It had accepted my new ID number for the PC but was going to test it as a 4way ext lead!
Thinking that I had tested the PC incorrectly last year I proceeded to re-test both items again, from new, with new lables, but the same thing happened. The scanner should set up all the tests for each individual items once you have done the initial test, should'nt it?
Any ideas please?

Hi

The issue could be that the same Asset ID was inadvertantly used for the two assets (the 4 way lead being the latest). How do you mean on retest the new labels caused the same issue?

Could you tell me what tester you are using?

The Supernova or Europa will require you to upload the tests from the software before you can perform a retest.

The scanner will scan the Asset ID. The tester will search through the upload memory and present the correct asset for retest. Please note it will not show a retest for assets in the memory.

How do i get the Barcode for a Rover 620 remote control? My car is N reg and has no remote control for the central locking/alarm.I purchased the correct one on E-bay but a Rover specialist tells me that they need a Barcode in order to code it to the vehicle and there isn't one.

You need to find a forum that discusses barcodes for Rover automobiles and not Electrical Safety Test equipment.
