HAL101 Guard circuit

HAL101 Guard circuit

Postby shewitson » Thu Dec 22, 2016 5:18 pm

Hi,

I am looking at interfacing with the guard circuit by adding a relay and connector.
The current connector is rated at 250V and has markings for Live and Neutral, and is physically located near other mains related connectors/switches etc.

Personally I do not think that the guard circuit is mains voltage, but I cannot find any information anywhere confirming or suggesting anything to the contrary.

What is the voltage/current requirements/rating of the guard circuit? i.e. Can I use a connector rated to 12V 500mA etc?

Many thanks,
Stephen

Hi,

For people interested in the answer, this is direct from customercare...

The Guard circuit rating at least 5V dc and 20mA.

From my own experience, the 5V output is not current protected so do not accidentally short this to ground as it WILL blow up.
