110v Equipment for a Newbie pat tester

Hi

I would like some advice please
I have a Seaward 250+ Tester, I have been asked to pat test a collection of 110v Equipment a guy that contacted me is a boiler fitter
I know I need both 110v adaptors for my tester do I need anything else?

That's it.

I have marked mine up "For PAT use ONLY" to cover the fact they have 240v plug to 110v socket!!

MAKE SURE you use the 110v tests.

Hi PaulS

You would need a 230V plug to 110V socket adapter to test 110V appliances. To test 110V leads you would also need the 10V plug to IEC adapter. As Alan has advised above you should use special leads that are designed for testing or have them labelled up correctly. The PT250+ does not have the ability to power up 110V equipment and so you would only be able to test earth continuity and insulation resistance. If using the Seaward adapters which have some connections removed for safety reasons you would need to manually check polarity on 110V leads.
