PAT Checkbox 227A910 earth leakage results query.

Hi All,

The Seaward website video of the Checkbox (227A910) shows a Primetest 100 being tested.
The Earth leakage current test result in the video is 0.38mA, however the Checkbox nominal value for that test is shown as being 0.70mA on the reverse of the box.
Isn't that indicating a failure, or do the Earth leakage current results for the Primetest 100 differ from the nominal value on the Checkbox? Do the results require interpretation to determine whether the Primetest 100 is measuring Earth leakage correctly?

Stephen

Hi stephen_g

I believe that our technical support department have already answered your query however I will post the answer below for the benefit of others.

Regarding leakage results with the PT100 and PAT checkbox:

You should be able to use the PAT Checkbox with the PT100 to confirm the Earth Continuity and Insulation measurements. However, the Leakage value may not be correct as the leakage test performed by the PT100 is at 40ac (not mains powered) and therefore the instrument cannot energise the checkbox circuitry to produce the value on the rear of the box.
