Incoming Mains Fault PT300

Postby Derek » Fri May 31, 2013 10:48 am

Hi

I have an issue with my Prime Test 300. It keeps coming up with an incoming mains fault just as it is about to perform the Power on Test.

The EUT is on , the lead is plugged in and is on, the batteries are charged, I changed the internal fuse.

Is there anything else I can try ?

Any help would be welcome

Cheers
Derek

I take it that you mean the Mains Inlet lead here?

Yes

The clover mains lead is attached and switched on at the wall. The EUT is plugged into the tester as well and the EUT is on.

The fault only appears when it is performing the touch current or the (Power on Test)

Hi Derek
This generally means that there is either no incoming voltage or that the incoming voltage is out of range. Does it give any readings? Do you have any way of checking that the lead is OK?
Thanks and kind regards

Hi Amy

Thanks for the reply , it does have a live and a neutral reading.

I have not been able to write down these readings as there is now no fault with the incoming mains alert now !!

Very strange behaviour, my only conclusion is there is a loose connection on the mains lead ?

Thanks for all your help

PS : I take it is easy enought to get a new lead for this ?

Derek perhaps the problem was with the wall socket you were using?

Hi Derek
That does sound strange. Hopefully it wont happen again but if you want to purchase a new mains lead the part number is 44B141 and the list price is £19 +VAT. Please call Sales on 01915878744 to purchase.
Thanks and kind regards
