Australian Plugs Conversion

Postby mdbooker » Tue Apr 23, 2013 8:36 am

Hi Everyone.

I am looking at buying a new Seaward PAT tester for use over here in Australia. The problem is Seaward have distributors here who only carry the PT300 model, not the newer PT350 and Apollo models.

I want to know if it is possible to buy a UK version, and then change the plug fitting that is on the actual unit, to that of an Australian plug rather than the UK one?

Also, anyone got a comparison chart of the 3 models? Wanted to see what changed in the PT300 to PT350 upgrade, and then compare with the new Apollo 600 to make sure they will all do the same range of tests.

Hopefully someone can help with answers, I have googled these questions for hours with no luck!

Really the only difference between the Australian PT300 and the UK PT350 is that the PT350 will do a load test and a 250V Insulation resistance test. The Aussie PT300 was updated with the in-situ charger from the PT350.
Thanks and kind regards
