Would anyone have a costing on the new Apollo 600 portable appliance tester ,is this also a battery run tester .Got a feeling you won't get much change out of £2000 to £3000 by the time you have purchased the new software for it.

The Apollo 600 has an internal recharageable battery pack and will run from either battery or mains. It is similar to the PT350 except that it can also be powered from mains (if the battery pack is discharged) and there is no external charger, you simply connect the mains power lead as you would when perfroming a load/leakage test.

The end user price has not yet been published but if your expecting to pay £2000 - £3000 including software then your in for a pleasant surprise.

So what is the yearly charge for the PATGuard 3 software that goes with it then?

Hello,
PATGuard 3 incorporates not only PAT asset and result management but also risk assessments and additional Health & Safety Certificates. It will be charged at a yearly subscription cost of £159 per year for the top level Elite package which includes product support and regular updates giving additional features of which we hope the users will have an input. If you already have a PATGuard 2 licence you will be entitled to a discount on your first years subscription of up to 100%! You can also gain further discounts by investing in 3 or 5 year licences or by getting a special discount code from your local Seaward Approved Distributor. Please let me know if you require any further information on pricing structure or functionality.
Please look out for more information appearing on our website and the FREE 30 day trial which will be available at the end of May.
Thanks and kind regards

So we're effectively buying new software every year then. And what about multi-user/networked/SQL versions??

I agree with you Duff.

With the cost of the tester, training, calibration and then software this is a very expensive job. Add to that the "Sticker Jockies" keeping the price you can charge artificially low, how to earn a crust at this I don't know.

I will be sticking to my trusty Europa + and FREE download software. I have written my own Excel macro to format the data.

Hi Duff1
You kind of will be getting a new software each year but for a much lower price than the round about £500 price tag top of the range software products bought outright can be. In with the price you will also be safeguarded against any windows updates or changes in guidance or regulations there may be.
We have based the PATGuard 3 software on the same concept as Apollo 600 of allowing you to provide a value added service rather than a price driven approach. The addition of risk assessment can help you to advise on retest periods and corrective actions as well as giving a risk based PAT testing service.
Thanks and kind regards
