Another nice to have feature, "Delete last test result" for those times when you realize you've stuffed up and would like to save the bother of writing down the asset number, and then deleting it when you download the day's/job's test results to PG3

Re: Apollo 600 future enhancements = Apollo 600+

Well looking down our list of suggestions, looks like Seaward took some notes, New Apollo Plus has:
Culled From This Thread
a. Power socket test : this is mentioned in the user manual, page 28 of ver 3.v3. It would be useful to view and record the mains voltage and P-N-E combinations of the site being tested.

Extra Results Search and Download features- sometimes when testing on a clients site, it's handy if you can pull up all the Failed Items for a site or location. I can do this easily on either of my SuperNovas, but not all on my PTE/Apollo 600

Relocate the fuses protecting the PTE/Apollo 600 to the battery compartment so users don't have to disembowel the wee beasts on a client's desk if it happens to pop one while testing. If that's not possible, get a better connector for the battery, to make removing it easier

Better Probe Leads, supplied ones are fine for doing the odd bit of IT gear on a desk, but lack grunt for extended daily use tagging 100's of items per week, every week. Slightly longer, and 50% more conductor and insulation would be good.

Some other features they've added:
Ability to edit predictive text lists on the fly, 2D barcode scanner, new battery connector allows for plugging a charger direct into the battery and charging it while you run on a spare

Giving PTE/Apollo users the option to connect a printer via cable would be good, so last century I know, but I strike plenty of places where Bluetooth just doesn't work- can't identify a cause.

Some times swapping printers makes a difference, weird thing is, if I go to the "View Data" page, and select print tag from there, PTE will latch on to printer and print the tag- this suggests a software glitch to me, rather than a hardware/environment issue

Re: Apollo 600 future enhancements- AUS/NZ Version

What about a firmware upgrade for AUS/NZ users of Apollo 600s (known down here as the Prime Test Elite), would be good if you could release it for 2019 :D

Make both the Center Here Line and Tested To Line, editable, this would be helpful when using the PTE/Apollo 600 for purposes other than appliance testing- ie testing fire extinguishers, checking ladders, safety harnesses, At present users of PTE can only select/deselect.

Changing font size on Asset Number would be a great option too

Please add the Asset ID to the Asset Description screen...sometimes you get distracted and dont remember if it was a retest or a new test

Heard there are some "issues" with how PTE is performing some tests that may mean it's not actually testing some items to the standard- think that may be the focus of the next firmware upgrade. But you are right, it would be great to get some of the Apollo Plus functionality bundled into the down under version AKA the PTE

Here's an idea Seaward, what about contacting this company and getting them to produce a moulded TPU clear keyboard/screen cover for Apollo/PTE. Us users that work in dirty/dusty environments would happily buy them off you to protect our sizable investment in purchasing your gear.

If Seaward dosen't want to play ball, anyone got a "dead "Apollo/PTE" that they would be willing to send to Protect Covers to make a mould from?

Apollo 600 Plus- PTE Plus

Postby southseas » Thu Sep 05, 2019 9:34 pm

Have heard in the last week that a firmware upgrade to take PTE to the AS/NZS 3760 equivalent of the Apollo Plus is about to be released, keep an eye peeled on the Emona PTE support page next month.
