Do I need to Flash Test my appliances?


Dielectric Strength Testing (also known as Flash or Hi-Pot Testing) is not normally carried out during in-service testing. Dielectric Strength Testing is carried out by the manufacturer on complete appliance after assembly. Dielectric strength testing should only be performed where it will not weaken insulation or create a hazard. If in doubt seek advice from the the manufacturer of the appliance.
