Job title: Application Team Leader
Department: Engineering
Reports Direct: Engineering Director

Job Functions and Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will get an opportunity to work alongside a talented team of engineers to develop a range of challenging engineering solutions.
  • Responsible for managing, leading and developing the Application team to deliver a number of small-medium complex projects.
  • Working closely with the Commercial team and the Production team to ensure that the design solution meets the appropriate requirements.
  • Liaise with customers and external contractors directly.
  • Maintaining the quality and integrity of the work produced by the Application team.
  • Following and contributing to the development of the Best Practice guidelines.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent.
  • Management experience in engineering area.
  • C/C++ programming experience on embedded platform.
  • Excellent Project Management and Team Leadership skills.

Desirable

  • Experience in interfacing or managing offshore design resources.
  • Understanding of safety critical design.
  • Understanding of basic electrical and electronic parameters – e.g. measurements of resistance, voltage, current, insulation; 17th edition testing useful.

Job title: Content & Social Media Executive
Department: Marketing
Reports Direct: Marketing Manager

Job Purpose

  • Create engaging content for Seaward for both online and offline channels.
  • Manage, own and grow Seaward’s social media accounts.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Create content both online and offline for all industries which is engaging & promotes the group & its products in a positive way.
  • Interview category managers to generate content which will solve the customer’s problems, whether it’s an FAQ or guidance article.
  • Respin old & competitors posts making them current & relevant.
  • Grow the groups social media channels by creating & posting engaging & sharable content.
  • Assist the Digital Communications Manager with day to day SEM activities & campaigns by creating optimised landing pages & email content attracting a high CTR.
  • Be the ‘champion’ of the company’s tone of voice ensuring every piece of literature, digital or print, is within the guidelines.
  • Monitor the media, trade publications & social media sites for opportunities.
  • Digital listening. Review forums, video comments, social groups & offer advice where possible.
  • Assist the Marketing Communications Manager with the quarterly internal newsletter, and any print advertising materials needed.
  • Work with external partners when required to syndicate popular articles & stories.
  • Be a team player with an exceptional work ethic and can do, positive attitude.
  • Create monthly enews bulletins to be sent to the relevant databases.

KPIs:

  • Organic & campaign website traffic.
  • Social Media channel growth, interaction, shares & engagement.
  • An increased CTR for email campaigns.

Experience, Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Excellent grammatical skills with the qualification to back them up (A at A level or equivalent).
  • The ability to write for digital & print and know the difference between the styles & techniques.
  • Some knowledge of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) & basic HTML coding skills would be advantageous.
  • An excellent understanding of all social media & online networking platforms including their advertising platforms.
  • Ability to defuse & resolve company & product negativity online in forums, social channels, reviews.
  • Knowledge of the electrical safety industry would be advantageous.
  • Excellent work ethic.
  • Demonstrates an attention for detail.
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner across different levels of a business and to a global customer base.

Job title: Website Developer
Department: Marketing
Reports Direct: Digital Communications Manager

Job Purpose

  • To support Seaward in developing their websites & other digital platforms using best practices.
  • Ensure the security of all digital platforms is of the highest level to prevent breaches & attacks.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Develop the company’s websites & other digital platforms according to the development strategy using best practices.
  • Ensure all websites, servers and data are secure minimising the threat of imminent cyber-attacks.
  • Ensure all websites are integrated with the company’s CRM, email and other external systems
  • Bring new ideas to the table ensuring the company websites are up to date and on point with current industry trends.
  • Monitor competitor’s websites to ensure we are always one step ahead.
  • Provide recommendations and implement solutions to web based issues and challenges.

Experience, Skills and Knowledge

  • At least 2 years experience as a developer, in-house, freelance or agency. Examples of work will be required.
  • An excellent understanding of cyber security and best practices with comprehensive stress testing.
  • Good knowledge of PHP, MySQL, nginx, play, javasript/jQuery, HTML5, CSS, LAMP set-up.
  • An excellent understanding of website databases, architecture and how they work.
  • The ability to write clean code using CSS, minimising global changes.
  • An understanding of front-end usability and accessibility.
  • Good knowledge of WordPress although this is not what the main site will be built on.
  • An understanding of Search Engine Optimisation and best practices for development would be advantageous.
  • Experience with .htaccess and redirects.
  • An excellent understanding of the digital marketing industry.
  • Experience with page load speeds and how to minimise load times.
  • Understanding the importance & carry out user testing across browsers & devices.
  • The ability to work as part of a team and take individual responsibilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
